Whats the funniest thing you've ever seen happen in the KH?
by shell69 ini remember being a kid and we didnt have the fancy fabric seats, they were plastic stackable chairs all set out in the usual lines.. an elderly bro, rather rotund, farted, the noise so loud and thundering against the plastic seat!
or the time when i must have been about 7, my dad brought his bible study family to their first ever meeting, i had to sit on mums knee.
i recall giving the daughter of the new family a very vigorous v sign during the meeting.

My brother was a teenager and trying to impress the girls in the hall. One Sunday WT meeting, it was very very quiet in the audience when he let out the loudest, boom-iest FFFAAARRRTTT!!!!!!!!!! He got so red faced! That was back in the 1980's.

Did You Enjoy Listening to the Scriptures on Tape?
by prophecor in.
reading the scriptures took on a whole new meaning when listening to the written word elloquently delivered on tapes.
did you enjoy listening, as well?.

Pharoah sounded like Daniel Sydlic and the Bible reader on those tapes sounded like a snooty Bostonian (no offence to non-snooty Bostonians). He seemed to read through his nose in a conceited accent. He didn't sound at all like he was enjoying reading the scriptures as he seemed to read in a monotone like from a medical journal. BORING! Could hardly stand hearing his rendition of how the Bible should be read. No excitement, nothing to enjoy.

Bd,
I've really enjoyed reading your posts. Sorry you are leaving but very happy that the board filled your need and you feel free to move on. I still come here I guess to fill a need. It will be nice when I don't need it anymore just because that will mean, for me mind you, that I am completely standing on my own and completely healed. We all have our reasons for being here. Anyway, good luck to you and do come back from time to time just to post something funny or whatever.
Cheers, Chenoa

Can you find the image all Kingdumb Hells have?
by WTWizard inno, kingdumb hells do not have traditional images.
they lack crosses, statues, and other symbols that most christian churches have.
however, they do have an image.

I don't think anyone really worships the flag. They just honor it like a presiding judge, or something.

Fading? What's up?
by arker ini was a jw, finally saw my chance and wrote a letter to the elders saying how bad i am and how i don't want to meet to discuss it and to df me if you want.
that was the end of it for me.
my question is if you know you are "fading" you are already gone so why not make the leap?

Manhas,
Sorry for your terrible experience, but not every child has one nearly as bad as yours. The courts take special notice of children in divorce proceedings and typically don't want to add to the disruption of their lives any more than has been done. They tend to keep kids where their daily routines are as consistent as possible and that means not ripping kids from their religion if there is no PROOF that that religion has been hurting them. They look at all angles and make, in their opinion, the best ruling for the children. The kids' way of life should go on as uninterrupted as possible. That is why trying to get your kids out of a religion they have been involved in from birth is definately not a goal of most judges in divorce proceedings. They can smell bloodlust from both parties and watch for any hate stories.

Cellist,
My reason exactly for the fade! My fade wasn't exactly slow but it wasn't sudden, either. I was neglected out and then felt the need to see why others quit. After that, it was much easier to stop associating all together.
